When switching from my weaving and design work to digital I wanted to still embrace my original desires of creating a whimsical interactive experience. While considering how I could still create an interactive environment that supports parts of my design ideas and concepts, I came up with the idea of creating a simple explorative point and click game. This game would feature different "worlds" and levels for the player to explore and interact with all of course, featuring mushrooms.

The game entitled "The Lonely Mycologists Society," would be a non linear world, meaning the player would not follow a set plot or pathway and is expected to use their sense of exploration and curiosity to progress further into the worlds interactive capabilities. The player would explore a large and mysterious mushroom forest to an abandoned museum at nights where they are keeping watch for thieves. I want to ignite the players sense of curiosity and wonder at a time when everything seems so dark and dull. The simple yet mystical act of foraging for mushrooms is a perfect way for people to take a break and relax for a bit.

I find it interesting and beautiful how such wonderful fungi can emerge from decay. All these worlds play on the fact that with the players assistance, the worlds can be altered and made more beautiful. Some of these actions may result in even the destruction of the world, but usually all result in a mysterious addition of more mushrooms. The beauty in the worlds comes instead with change, never remaining the same. Please enjoy the next 7 levels of development and storyboarding for The Lonely Mycologists Society.
